🐴 Goose: From Grey Goose to Golden Heart
Some horses arrive at Heavens Ranch with a story that’s as smooth as the vodka they’re named after. Goose, our beloved rescue gelding, was christened after Grey Goose, and while his entrance wasn’t exactly graceful, it was unforgettable.
Goose staggered his way into our lives from a generous family who saw his potential and donated him to become a vital part of our children’s lesson program. From the moment he stepped onto the ranch, it was clear he had something special to offer, not just in skill, but in spirit.
Despite his rough start, Goose quickly proved himself to be a gentle teacher. He’s patient with our youngest riders, steady under saddle, and always ready to lend his quiet confidence to those learning the ropes. His kind eyes and mellow demeanor make him a favorite among our lesson kids, many of whom have found their first real connection to horses through him.
But Goose’s talents don’t stop in the arena. On weekends, he transforms into a trail companion for one of our clients whom is a police officer and enjoys his quiet time, carrying them through the streets of Norco with the same calm grace he shows in lessons. Whether he’s helping a child take their first trot or guiding a seasoned rider through the trails, Goose brings heart, reliability, and a touch of humor to every ride.
He may be named after a fine vodka, but Goose is pure gold to us — a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected arrivals become the most treasured members of the herd.
